Fifty Years of Pioneering Gender Equality

This special issue of Al-Raida celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Arab Institute for Women (AiW) at the Lebanese American University (LAU) by bringing together some of the Institute’s most significant activities, publications, research outputs, and milestones. It also highlights key contributions to women’s rights, gender studies, and feminist thought in Lebanon and the Arab region, showcasing the work of pioneering women and landmark initiatives developed over the years. Designed as both a retrospective and a forward-looking issue, it revisits foundational debates while introducing new perspectives that are shaping the feminist discourse. This issue of Al-Raida also features a full redesign, as the journal has been completely revamped to renew its visual identity and enhance accessibility.
